Much progress has been made during the first of HEATSTACK, including the design and development of a new production-ready CAPH that gives robustness, cost effectiveness and levels of Chromium leakage that are so low they are industry leading. Methods have been analysed for fuel cell stack production and devices for the chosen method have been designed and built, with results from initial tests being positive. Significant developments have been made on materials research that show AluChrom 318 is highly suitable for CAPH application. Field testing also shows positive results for HEATSTACK, with over 3.4 million operating hours logged and impressive maximum single CAPH operating hours for Inconel and Aluchrome.
